Why do we have Regions?
ESTIEM's mission is to "Connect and support the growth and sustainability of European associations of IEM students, to foster relations and develop their IEM students, personally and professionally.", thus, regions exist as a way to connect our Local Groups and help them develop. In other words, Regions are a tool for connecting Local Groups and through collaboration and communication enable development.
There are currently eight (8) Regions, as shown in the image below. To facilitate the monitoring process, each Region has a Regional Coordinator (RC) assigned. To contact every RC simultaneously, you can use the email regionalcoordinators.mc@estiem.org

Each Board Member is also responsible of the activeness of the regions and we shared the responsibility as follows:
Adding to a total of 72 ESTIEM Groups, from which 3 are Guest Groups (As, Auvergne), spread through 26 countries.
What can we expect from a strong region?
All of these aspects come from interactive Local Groups inside of one Region. After a sustainable established connection, each Local Group should be empowered to explore new growth opportunities. Having Regions also allows ESTIEM to better explain what is expected from a Local Group.
What to expect from the Regional Coordinator?
RCs are a link between Central ESTIEM and Local Groups and all LGs themselves. Their role is to monitor and support Local Groups while fostering the purpose of Regions.
Besides this, they interact with each other as to unite the whole network.
